The breakdown of a marriage or spousal relationship is difficult for all involved. You do not need to go through a separation or divorce on your own.

We have experience representing clients in the following matters:

  • Child guardianship and custody

  • Parenting plans

  • Child support

  • Spousal support

  • Dividing family property

  • Obtaining a divorce

We can assist you by:

  • Answering your questions

  • Advising you of your rights & obligations under the Family Law Act & Divorce Act

  • Negotiating a settlement on your behalf, directly with other counsel or through mediation

  • Drafting prenuptial, cohabitation or separation agreements

  • Representing you in court

Cohabitation Agreements

At the beginning of a relationship, parties may want a written cohabitation agreement to determine their affairs during their relationship and in case the relationship ends. A cohabitation agreement can help to avoid arguments or can be drafted to make sure children from a previous relationship get a share of their parent's estate. We can assist you by drafting a cohabitation agreement and a Will to give effect to these plans.

Our Approach

We will first try to resolve matters without the need for a trial in front of a Judge. We use face-to-face meetings between both counsel and clients, mediations, judicial case conferences and family case conferences in attempts to reach a negotiated agreement. However, there are times when a decision from a court is the best solution and we will vigorously represent our clients in court when needed.
